FC Barcelona Players Love Padel

The Spanish Football players could not escape the Padel fever that hit Spain this last decade.
So much so that it became a problem for the Catalonian players.

Dani Olmo has made a strong start at Barça. The player from Terrassa enjoyed an incredible summer, which began with his key role in Spain’s European Championship victory and his subsequent signing with the Blaugrana team.

His debut was everything he could have hoped for, helping secure three points for Flick’s team in Vallecas. In an interview with the club’s media, Olmo shared that he enjoys playing basketball, padel, and table tennis, with Padel being his favorite.

Olmo isn’t the only player on the team who enjoys Padel; other teammates like Eric García, Ferrán Torres, and Pedri also share this hobby. Dani praised Pedri’s skills, saying, “Everyone plays well, especially Pedri.”

The current squad isn’t the only group of Barcelona players who love playing Padel. Several club legends are also passionate about the sport. Puyol, Piqué, Messi, Suárez, Kluivert, and Saviola are some of the notable examples of players who have embraced the padel craze.

One of the most enthusiastic players is Puyol, who demonstrated his dedication five years ago, staying true to his philosophy. These great ambassadors contribute to promoting a sport that is rapidly growing in popularity.

FC Barcelona Players Banned from Padel Clubs

However, all current players were recently banned from playing Padel by their coach Xavi. The reason behind this ban is constant injuries that might affect their games and the upcoming Champion’s League. Padel is a great game with a low barrier to entry, but athletes will play intensely no matter the sport, therefor all major current players have stopped playing Padel until further notice from Xavi and his technical team.
