Though Iberia still holds the record number of courts, most of its growth in 2023 has been in infrastructure renewal, and private courts.

France led in overall court growth (673 new courts), with neighboring regions of Central Europe also maintaining their momentum.

The US saw increased attention from court manufacturers’ commercial efforts, while the Middle East and other emerging regions showed significant growth. However, Italy and Spain are still leaders in this domain.

The single biggest factors boosting Padel’s growth are technology and professionalization. The Playtomic report shows that its consistent growth is due to Professional tournaments, leagues, conferences, and other events that are attracting the attention of both the media and the general public.

Key Success Factors for Running a Padel Club

Infrastructure

Among the main things one must consider before building a successful Padel club is location as it directly affects the target audience you want to attract. Next, Playtomic suggests taking care of the permits you need as soon as possible, as they might take the bulk of your time and will change according to the location, and make it as streamlined as possible. When it comes to civil work (clearing the area, leveling the ground, and ensuring proper drainage) Playtomic have deduced that building over tennis courts makes it much easier. In setting up the courts, keep in mind all of the other services and spaces your club will be providing. Finally, when everything is ready, Playtomic suggests keeping up with your facility and ensuring constant maintenance to optimize the lifespan of your court and the quality of your services.

The total (Artificial turf replacement not included) amounts to 300-700€ a year.

Services

Playtomic have set up a number of strategies for you to consider when looking to improve your club and make it successful. Playtomic advocate for the social component of your club to be enhanced through food and beverage, in addition to providing places for members to relax and socialize. Playtomic’s 2024 Report posits that social events like seasonal camps and friendly tournaments foster community.

When it comes to focusing on skill development and fun activities, lounge areas where members can relax and spectate in comfort are Playtomic’s best solution, alongside other amenities such as a pro shop or a kids club, of course.

According to Playtomic (2024), at a sporting level, a club should provide well-maintained and nicely lit padel courts and locker rooms, as well as, clean and well-equipped facilities with showers and lockers.

Playtomic believe that using technology is the best way to speak to your clientele and meet players’ many wants and needs.

Of the many uses it could provide, they mention tournament information and entry, joining open matches, lesson booking, court booking, split payments, player matching, and special offers. Head to Playtomic to learn more.
