Court and Equipment Infractions
- Court Construction:
- Space between the metallic fence and the net post (not allowed).
- Non-uniform bounce due to improper materials or faulty construction of walls and fences.
- Net Issues:
- Gaps between the net and the posts or the court surface.
- Improperly secured tension cable that poses a risk to players.
- Equipment Violations:
- Racket with reflective surfaces, sound elements, or additional devices altering gameplay.
- Use of a broken or dangerous racket.
- Use of a battery or other power source in the racket.
- Ball Irregularities:
- Use of balls not conforming to IPF standards (e.g., wrong pressure, size, or bounce).
- Lighting Problems:
- Improper placement causing vision issues for players or umpires.
Service and Play Infractions
- Service Faults:
- Missing the ball while serving.
- Serving before the receiver is ready.
- Serving from the wrong position or side.
- Ball hitting the server or their equipment during the serve.
- General Play Infractions:
- Hitting the ball before it crosses the net.
- Double hits during play.
- Ball touching any part of a player’s body or equipment (other than the racket) after being hit.
- A player jumping over the net during play.
- Out-of-Court Play Infractions:
- Playing without authorized out-of-court conditions.
- Ball leaving the court through unauthorized exits.
Behavioral Infractions
- Unsportsmanlike Behavior:
- Audible obscenities (offensive words spoken loudly).
- Visible obscenities (offensive gestures or signs).
- Aggressive or disrespectful behavior toward officials, opponents, or spectators.
- Equipment Abuse:
- Throwing or hitting equipment against the court, walls, or net.
- Ball Abuse:
- Violently throwing or hitting the ball when not in play.
- Failure to Try:
- Players not putting in their best effort to win.
- Leaving Match Area:
- Exiting the play area without umpire authorization.
Administrative and Procedural Infractions
- Punctuality Issues:
- Arriving late to a match (more than 10 minutes).
- Improper Attire:
- Wearing sleeveless shirts or swimwear during play.
- Identification Issues:
- Failing to provide identity, nationality, or age when requested.
- Prize-Giving:
- Not attending the prize ceremony without valid justification.
Penalties
- First Infraction: Warning.
- Second Infraction: Warning with point loss.
- Third Infraction: Warning with disqualification.
- Direct Disqualification: For grave physical or verbal aggression, leading to a match or tournament expulsion.
